On Sunday morning, when the villagers went towards the fields, they saw the body of a young man lying soaked in blood. However, people identified the body and informed the police. Police reached the spot as soon as they got information about the incident.

After which the police took the body into custody and started investigation. The incident took place in the fields of Bathna village of Bairia police station area of the district. The deceased has been identified as Bullet Patel, 36 years old, of East Nautan. It is said that Bullet used to bring liquor from UP via Gandak river and sell it at various places in Bettiah district. There is panic in the area after the incident. The incident took place late on Saturday night. However, the police believe that the firing incident was carried out in a gang war of liquor smugglers. There was a shootout between two liquor smugglers, in which the youth died.
Here the deceased’s brother Suresh Patel said that we had gone to another place at night. My brother was called at night, after which he was taken to a farm seven kilometers away from the house and shot dead. Police has also seized a large number of liquor bottles from near the body. The deceased’s nephew Vijay Kumar Patel said that my uncle Bullet Patel used to do land business and there is no information about how he reached that place. SP Amarkesh D said that as soon as the information about the incident was received, police along with FSL team was sent to the spot for investigation. Police is busy investigating the case.
